122 - Sentiero dei Vasi

Questo percorso ci permette di seguire i “vasi”, che sono delle vasche di decantazione delle acque, installate lungo l’acquedotto fin dall’anno mille. Il sentiero pianeggiante, si sviluppa fino ad arrivare al colle di San Vigilio tra boschi e itinerari, che ci permettono di scoprire panorami accattivanti e ricchi di storia. Dopo aver parcheggiato in via Castagneta, iniziamo il nostro percorso in direzione di Valtesse. La strada è stretta con un traffico scarso, ma bisogna comunque prestare attenzione. Siamo in vista di uno slargo in località Gallina e proseguiamo in modo agevole sul tratto asfaltato. Raggiungiamo e superiamo, prestando attenzione una strettoia. Sulla nostra sinistra, dopo il cartello indicatore, ha inizio il sentiero dei Vasi. Il tratto iniziale e composto da ciotoli di diverse misure compattate nel terreno. Superando un’abitazione alla nostra sinistra, proseguiamo sul sentiero che si fa più stretto. Siamo ora nel bosco, il fondo è di terra compatta ed il cammino è piacevole. Alla nostra sinistra raggiungiamo un pannello illustrativo del sentiero dei vasi. Svoltiamo a destra e superiamo un piccolo ruscello, che scende verso valle. Le primule che troviamo lungo il cammino ci informano che la natura si sta risvegliando. Il percorso è piacevole, le pendenze sono basse ed il fondo si mantiene compatto. Raggiungiamo e superiamo agevolmente un guado, di un piccolo ruscello. Il paesaggio è vario, cambia dopo ogni curva ed il cammino è ricco di informazioni sul territorio. Alla nostra destra, raggiungiamo dei gradini che ci invitano a scendere verso valle. Raggiungiamo una zona di ispezione dell’acquedotto, e sentiamo lo scorrere dell’acqua. Volgendo lo sguardo verso monte, ammiriamo il lavoro di mantenimento del manufatto. Riprendiamo il cammino e svoltiamo a sinistra e ci accingiamo a salire su una serie di gradini. Il percorso è abbastanza agevole e la pendenza non è eccessiva. Abbiamo raggiunto la fine del sentiero dei vasi, ci fermiamo in questa piccola area di sosta. Svoltando a destra si può scendere fino alla località Ramera, ma noi decidiamo di ripercorrere il sentiero dei vasi a ritroso, per raggiungere il punto dal quale siamo partiti.

This route allows us to follow the ‘vasi’, which are water settling tanks installed along the aqueduct since the year 1000. The flat path winds its way through woods and trails to the hill of San Vigilio, offering captivating views rich in history. After parking in Via Castagneta, we begin our journey towards Valtesse. The road is narrow with little traffic, but caution is still required. We approach a widening in Gallina and continue easily along the paved section. We reach and pass a narrow section, taking care. On our left, after the signpost, the Sentiero dei Vasi trail begins. The initial section consists of pebbles of various sizes compacted into the ground. Passing a house on our left, we continue along the path, which becomes narrower. We are now in the woods, the ground is compact and the walk is pleasant. On our left, we reach an information panel about the path of the vases. We turn right and cross a small stream that flows down towards the valley. The primroses we find along the way tell us that nature is awakening. The path is pleasant, the slopes are gentle and the ground remains compact. We reach and easily cross a ford of a small stream. The landscape is varied, changing after every bend, and the path is rich in information about the area. On our right, we reach some steps that invite us to descend towards the valley. We reach an inspection area of the aqueduct and hear the water flowing. Looking up towards the mountain, we admire the maintenance work carried out on the structure. We resume our walk, turn left and prepare to climb a series of steps. The path is fairly easy and the slope is not excessive. We have reached the end of the path of the vases and stop at this small rest area. Turning right, you can descend to Ramera, but we decide to retrace our steps along the path of the vases to reach the point from which we started.
