The path starts at the crossroad with 213 path (Orobie Trail) at 1752 m near (to east) the creek descending from the “dei Frati” Valley. It rises in the woods becoming more and more sparse to the dam at 1939 m. Follow the shore of the lake and then climb the orographic right slope of the valley. The path crosses a very wild environment and has sometime uncomfortable surface due to large boulders. At the top of the valley, turn slightly right and get the Aviasco Pass (2300 m – crossroad with path 214 leading to the Rifugio Laghi Gemelli and  path 229 leading to Aviasco Valley).

    Note

    1) Sometimes you can find the plural form: "the passes of Aviasco", thus distinguishing the two saddles as Eastern Aviasco pass and Western Aviasco pass. The two saddles, anyway, are almost at the same altitude, separated by only 300 m and connected by a path.
2)The friars coming from Badia of Vallalta (Abbey of Vallalta) used for some century the Armentarga pastures (located in the northwestern part of Calvi). It is very probable that the denominations "Valle dei Frati" and "Lago dei Frati" (Friars’ Valley and Friars’ Lake) derive from the passage of these friars, coming from the Val Seriana. They were climbing up to Gemelli Lakes, Lake Colombo and then, crossing the Aviasco Pass, were reaching their Armentarga pastures.
