CENTRAL-WESTERN OROBIE TRAIL  /  SENTIERO DELLE OROBIE CENTRO-OCCIDENTALI

The path n° 326 (also called 401) starts from the Albani Hut (1939 m), goes down to the mines area below, crosses the basin of Polzone pond and reaches “della Guaita” Col. It descends slightly on the other side and continues on gravelly ground up to the rocky gully where the via ferrata begins. The first vertical ladders allow access to the central part of the gully which, once crossed, allows an easier path and, by other ladders, to climb the “della Porta” Pass. After such pass, turning right, a ladder passes a first vertical cliff and, continuing with equipped stretches, you overcome some slabs and gain altitude. Proceeding now on exposed slopes, partly rocky and partly grassy, we overcome the outlet of the gully met at the beginning of the via ferrata and reach a saddle. Always by an equipped path, you get to the base of the circle (“Conca del Fupù” basin) and, by less difficulty, to the meadows near the “Corna delle Quattro Matte” top. Beyond the “Crestone delle Pecore” crest - by a last equipped stretch - you reach the outlet of the large “del Vallone” gully: the “Bocchetta del Visolo” notch, located between Mount Visolo and Presolana Orientale (Eastern Presolana top). Turning left, you quickly gain the grassy summit of Mount Visolo (2370 m).
