The red-white marked path can be found 20 m before the little church of S. Barbara, placed at the locality known as “I Fondi” (Schilpario). Follow the path eastwards for approx. 600 m - changing in the meantime the side of the valley - then emerging in a large meadow. In the meadow, you reach an old small building having a couple of marks and an old sign indicating a path that climbs - towards south-west - in the woods to your right (this old sign still shows an old indication "419"). Follow such marked trail that climbs into the woods (linearly and with constant slope) crossing a stream along the path. Then you cross the long path n° 419, so founding a signpost that indicates to go left in order to reach Lifretto Pass by path n °420 in 1.30 h. In a short time you reach the place called "Malga di Lifretto superiore" (1570 m):  path n°420 branches  away and climbs on your right (so leaving path n° 419 which now leads up to Cimone della Bagozza Hut). Follow path n°420 in a beautiful forest up to emerge in a vast basin placed north of Mount di Vai Piane. Go up the tracks following the red-white marks placed next to the wood for a few minutes until you found a small marked cairn: here the track turns right and enters the forest. You then go up a steep wooded ridge, at the end of which you suddenly reach the rocky walls that delimit the gully called Glera: you have reached the most challenging point of the track. The path enters briefly the gully (there are some old metal cables but mostly not more fixed at the rocks) until to cross the Glera gully. After that, the track proceeds with weak slopes - with nice views of the valley below and the mountains opposite - until to reach the solitary Lifretto Pass (1997 m).
